Sony DVD Players Class Action Litigation Home Page

Thank you for visiting the home page for the class action litigation against Sony Electronics, Inc. in connection with their Sony DVD Players (DVPs), including, but not limited to models S330, S360, S530D, S550D, S560D, S570D. This page is designed to inform purchasers of these Sony DVPs and other interested parties about the litigation, and to provide Sony DVP consumers with a means to assist counsel in prosecuting the cases on their behalf by telling us about their experiences with the Sony DVPs in the questionnaire below. TTC filed a class action on behalf of consumer purchasers of the Sony DVPs. This consumer class action was filed on February 15, 2002, in the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey, County of Middlesex. The complaint alleges that certain Sony DVPs are defective which results in the common symptoms and problems, with clean or new DVD discs, of inappropriate "C:13" or "No Disc" error messages, freezing of the image, and lip-synching, where the video and audio are out of "synch."

This case is being brought on behalf of purchasers of these Sony DVPs irrespective of the entity from whom it was purchased.

We will endeavor to keep this page current and report on material developments.

On July 11, 2003, a Motion for Class Certification will be heard on this matter.
